Specimen Collection and Shipment
All specimens need to be shipped using an overnight delivery service. Please notify LabPMM™ by email at samples@labpmm.com or by phone so we know to expect the specimens and can investigate any shipping issues.
Blood and Bone Marrow
Collect specimens in a Heparin (Green Top), EDTA (Lavender Top), or an ACD (Yellow Top) tube. Minimum Volumes are 4 ml of peripheral blood or 1 ml of bone marrow. Blood and bone marrow may be stored at room temperature or 4°C prior to shipment. All samples must arrive at LabPMM within 7 days of collection. Please ship blood and bone marrow at ambient temperature or with cool packs, DO NOT FREEZE.
Tissue
Tissue specimens can be collected and either immediately frozen or placed in RPMI media and stored at 4°C. Frozen tissue may be stored at -20°C indefinitely prior to shipment. Tissue collected in RPMI may be stored at 4°C for up to 48 hours prior to shipment. Frozen specimens should be shipped on dry ice. Ship tissue collected in RPMI on cool packs.
Previously Isolated DNA
The minimum acceptable amount of DNA is 1μg. Previously isolated DNA may be stored indefinitely at 4°C or lower. Please ship previously isolated DNA at ambient temperature, with cool packs or frozen.
Payment Options
The Laboratory for Personalized Molecular Medicine™ accepts two forms of payment for testing services:
Institutional Billing:
We will bill the referring institution or physician's office/group. Please complete the New Client Form. The Laboratory for Personalized Molecular Medicine™ is happy to invoice institutions. We also accept credit card, money order or cashier checks. LabPMM™ does not accept personal checks or cash payments.
Personal Payment:
LabPMM™ accepts cashier's checks, money orders and credit cards for payment in cases where third parties will not reimburse the patient for the testing. Please note that all tests require submission of a valid order from a licensed health care provider. LabPMM™ does not offer testing directly to individuals.
The Laboratory for Personalized Molecular Medicine™ does not bill insurance companies, Medicare, or other third parties for services. Institutions or individuals are responsible for reimbursement from any and all third parties.
