December 2010 - We are Growing!
LabPMM is expanding into additional facilities here in San Diego. The move will more than double our existing space, providing more room for our expanding test menu and increased testing volume. We are also opening a European branch in Martinsried area of Munich, Germany. Keep an eye out for the announced opening of LabPMM GmbH later this year.

December 2008 - NPM1 Testing
LabPMM is pleased to announce that we have obtained a license to perform NPM1 mutation testing. The license includes the ability to monitor patients using ultra-sensitive minimal residual disease (MRD) tests.

Presence of NPM1 mutations in patients with karyotype normal acute myeloid leukemia (AML) portends a more favorable prognosis than patients that lack NPM1 mutations. While presence of FLT3 activating mutation alone portends a very poor prognosis for patients with AML, when the FLT3 mutation is present with an NPM1 mutation, the overall prognosis for the patient is somewhat more favorable. Accordingly, NPM1 mutation testing complements our exclusive license to test for FLT3 activating mutations.

Assessment of FLT3 and NPM1 mutation status has become an internationally recognized Standard of Care for patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Testing the mutation status of both of these biomarkers is necessary for disease stratification and optimal treatment selection for patients with AML.
